Welcome to WriteMind! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the WriteMind app and any related services provided by WriteMind ("we", "our", or "us"). By using WriteMind, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the app.
2. Eligibility
To use WriteMind, you must be at least 14 years old or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction. If you are using the app on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. Account and Registration
You do not need to create an account to use WriteMind. The app can be used without registration. However, if you choose to share your email for updates, we will use it to communicate with you.
4. Use of the App
WriteMind is designed to be a private and personal space. When you use the app to record your thoughts, the audio and analysis remain on your device unless otherwise noted. We do not store your recordings or transcripts, and no one on the WriteMind team has access to your personal entries.
To provide summaries and structure to your input, we use OpenAI’s language models to process your content securely. You can learn more about how OpenAI handles data in their Privacy Policy.
By using the app, you agree not to misuse the service or submit harmful, illegal, or malicious content. WriteMind is a tool for personal reflection and clarity, and we aim to keep it a safe and supportive space.
5. Privacy and Data Security
Your privacy is a top priority for us. All content you submit, including voice recordings, stays private and is stored locally on your device. WriteMind does not access, view, or store your recordings or summaries.
To generate insights, we send your input to OpenAI’s API for processing. This is done securely, and their Privacy Policy applies to that part of the process.
We do not collect personal data, do not require account creation, and do not track user activity. As a company based in the European Union, we adhere to the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and your data rights remain protected.
6. Intellectual Property
WriteMind and its associated content, including but not limited to the app’s design, logos, features, and AI algorithms, are the intellectual property of WriteMind. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the content of WriteMind without prior permission.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
WriteMind is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the app will be free from errors or available at all times.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, WriteMind and its affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the app.
9. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. When changes are made, the updated Terms will be posted within the app, and the "Effective Date" at the top of this document will be revised. By continuing to use WriteMind after such changes, you agree to the updated Terms.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to WriteMind if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your rights to use the app will end, and you must immediately stop using the app.
11. App Availability & Changes
We are constantly improving WriteMind to serve you better. While we aim for continuous availability, we may occasionally update, modify, or suspend parts of the app (or the entire service) without prior notice — for maintenance, upgrades, or other reasons. We are not liable for any temporary interruptions or changes to the service.
We also reserve the right to add or remove features as needed to enhance your experience or to meet technical, legal, or operational requirements.
12. Usage Limits
To ensure fair use and manage technical costs, each user is currently limited to a maximum of five (5) free entries per day. This allows us to maintain performance and sustainability as we grow. In the future, we may offer additional entries or premium features as part of a paid plan.
We’ll communicate any changes to these limits clearly and in advance. Our goal is to provide a valuable experience while keeping the platform accessible and reliable for everyone.
13. Not a Substitute for Therapy
WriteMind is a tool designed to help you reflect, process, and gain clarity through AI-assisted journaling. However, it is not a substitute for professional mental health care.
We are not licensed therapists or medical professionals, and the content generated by the app — including summaries and insights — should not be considered medical or psychological advice. If you are experiencing emotional distress or facing a crisis, we strongly encourage you to seek support from a qualified mental health professional or contact emergency services.
14. Governing Law
These Terms will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
